Six VOC athletes had a successful weekend at the Van Ryswyk Indoor Invitational in Kamloops, BC. The team had top performances and personal best times, coming away with 7 medals. Adria Sellers, had an amazing weekend competing indoors for the first time and came away with 3 medals: gold in the 60mH with a time of 9.41, silver in the 60m with a time of 8.28, and silver in the 200m with a time of 27.19. Thomas Ma had a fantastic race, winning the 60mH with great technique in a time of 8.37, a PR of 0.23 seconds. On the distance side, Dylan Uhrich ran a great 1500m race leading from start to finish, winning the U20 Boys category, and setting a meet record by over 8 seconds with a time of 4:04.77. Davis Timko ran strong and won the U18 Boys category finishing with a time of 4:22.83, an 11 second PR from last year’s outdoor season. Christian Petersen ran a calm and collected race, setting a great pace towards a U20 3rd place finish in a time of 4:23.43, a 9.5 second PR from last indoor season. Riordan Miya ran a successful race with a 4 second PR from last indoor season in a time of 4:24.73 Congratulations to these athletes for their achievements and thank you to the coaches and parents.
