Vancouver Olympic’s 2nd Annual In House Club Meet – Mercer Stadium

It was Saturday, June 26th, 2021 and the city of Vancouver had temperatures over 33 degrees – it’s first summer heat wave.

A change to the order of events took place prior to Saturday to accommodate for the the rising temperatures. This event was the 2nd Annual In House Club Meet sponsored by Nicola Wealth and was the last of the year for some of our athletes as they graduated this year from high school.

The Meet began with hurdles followed by some distance running (1200m and 1500m), sprints and in the pit, there was long jump and triple jump occurring.

The heat didn’t stop our athletes from performing. Hydration was necessary to stay focused and cool.

Another successful VOC competition and CONGRATULATIONS to all athletes on their achievements.

Results from the event can be found here.

Thank you to all the athletes for their performance on a very hot day. Thank you to the BC Athletics officials, parents’ officials of VOC, and volunteer parents for their amazing work. It was teamwork. United is power.

We look forward to more results from our athletes at upcoming meets.
