Nine VOC athletes successfully opened the 2020 indoor athletics season at the Harry Jerome Indoor Games at Richmond Olympic Oval on Saturday, February 1st.
The Harry Jerome Track Classic, showcased our very own Thomas Ma, who won the 60m Hurdles last year with the time of 8.67, on their website at the link https://www.harryjerome.com/events.
Again this year, Thomas Ma won his favorite event, the 60mH, with a new PR of 8.60, running fluid and with perfect technique. Ma ran a good 60m dash finishing 3rd and tested his speed endurance with a good effort in the 300m with a time of 38.60.
Terence Cheung had a great race winning the bronze medal in the 300m with 38.48 a PR, and is looking forward for better training in sprint and hurdles. He ran the 60m dash with time of 7.64.
Clarence Cheung had a very good race in the 60m Hurdles winning the silver medal with a PR of 0.48 sec. from last year.
Senri Nakamura and Kevin Pon, both achieved good results in 60m dash with the time of 7.79 a PR for Senri, and 7.80 for Pon who also ran 300m with a time of 42.56.
Roch Feng competed successfully in 60mH and 60m dash with the respective times of 8:40 and 10.25.
For JD group, Vanessa Pang won 60m dash and gold medal with a great time of 9.49 a PR for her.
Alison Torrance made a great presentation winning the bronze medal in the 60m dash with the time of 9.10, a PR of 0.44 sec. These results in sprint events are a great inspiration for Alison and Vanessa for their favorite events of hurdles and long jump in this season.
Cy Jones did a good presentation winning silver medal in 600m with the time of 2:13.57.
