VOC Distance Athletes dominated the Vancouver Sea to Sky High School Cross Country Championships

On Tuesday, October 22, at Jericho Beach Park, our VOC distance athletes dominated at the Vancouver Sea to Sky High School Cross Country (XC) Championship and zone qualifications for BC Provincial High School XC Championship.

Kendra Lewis ran a great race winning the 5km for senior category with a huge distance between her and the runner up.

Junior Athlete, Tilda Cressman, who runs 5km for seniors, and Freya Savage, had good races where they both finished respectively 14th and 20th and made the qualifications for Provincials.

For the boys, Dylan Uhrich won the 5km of the senior race, followed by Riordan Miya at second place. Davis Timko finished 10th, Paul Paetzel 20th, and Dylan Cheng at 43rd place, all of them qualifying for the BC Provincials on Saturday, November 2. Christian Petersen finished the race continuing his rehabilitation phase and will compete at the Provincial base of the qualification for his Kitsilano High School team.

For the junior category at 4.2km distance race, the top VOC runner was Liam Dachner, finishing in third place. For the Girls, Stephanie Sinclair ran a good race where she finished in 8th  place, and Zoe Cheng finished in 55th place making the qualification for the Provincial.  Also, Huseyn Azizli, had a solid race.
