2018 Canadian Legion Youth Championships

VOC athletes had the strongest finish to the track and field season yet.

Three of our athletes were selected to be on the BC Athletics Provincial Team at the Canadian Legion Youth Championships in Brandon, MB on August 10th-12th.

Kendra Lewis regrets her absence due to her European trip. Thomas Ma and Ceili McCabe competed at the Canadian Legion.

Thomas Ma, competing in the midget category, ran a great race in the 200mH with a PR of 24.90 winning the Canadian Champion title. Ma, also won the bronze medal in the 100mH, with another PR of 13.45, bringing the total medals of our program won at Canadian Nationals to 60 medals, including 30 Canadian Champion titles.

Ceili McCabe having previously won the Harry Jerome in the U18 category and the BC Champion in the 800m, tried to run a good race, but due to leg tightness, she finished in 8th place at the Canadian Championships.

Congratulations to all VOC athletes, congratulations to Thomas Ma, Ceili McCabe, and  Kendra Lewis for their great achievements in the 2018 track and field season.
