A Great Opening to the Indoor Season for VOC Athletes.
On Saturday, Feb.4, five VOC athletes opened the 2017 Indoor season by competing in the Harry Jerome Indoor Games, at the Richmond Oval.
Kendra Lewis won gold medal in the 1200m for Midgets and in doing so, broke the meet record with a personal indoor best of 3:55.74. Kendra dominated the race from the start to finish, keeping the right pace and planned tactic for this event.
Jessica Urban won the silver medal with a best time of 8.18 in the final of the 60m for Youths.
Anastas Eliopoulos ran a great time of 8.23 in winning the 110m hurdles for Juniors. Anastas competed for the first time in the senior category and had a great sprint in the 60m dash with a personal best of 7.10, winning the bronze medal.
Spencer Pratt ran very well in the 600m in the senior category, finishing fourth overall (and second for his junior age group) with a time of 1:29.38.
Thomas Ma, running for the first time in the midget category in the 60m dash won a silver medal with a personal best time of 7.81. Thomas also had a great run in the 300m finishing fourth for 15 years old (first for 14 years).
