Four of our athletes: D. Wiebe, T. Nobbs. A. Eliopoulos and N. Schultz are ranked # 1 in Canada
Wiebe and Harris, shone at the UW Invitational, and T. Nobbs and A. Eliopoullos, T. Ma, and K. Lewis broke records at the UW High School Meet and 2016 Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Indoor Games.
It was a great opening at the Dempsey Indoor Track in Seattle, WA on Jan 30, 2016 for our two athletes, Devan Wiebe and Tamara Harris (New West Spartans T&F), at UW Invitational. The two athletes returned from their university programs to their respective clubs and trained under the same athletics program. On Feb 6th, Wiebe and Harris, competed in the women’s 800m against 62 competitors from USA and Canadian University track clubs.
Devan Wiebe ran a tremendous race in the fastest section of 800 meters placing 4th overall, with an indoor personal best of 2:07.14 which was 3.04 of seconds faster than his time at the Milrose Games in NY on Jan 31, 2015 where he ranked # 1 in Canada for Oversize Indoor Track (>200m).
Tamara Harris had an incredible race at the second fastest section of 800 meters placing 11th overall, with a personal best of 2:09.98 which was almost 6 seconds faster than the Milrose Games in NY, on Jan 31, 2015 where she # 3 in Canada for Oversize Indoor Track (>200m).

It was a privilege for A. Eliopoulos to open the gold medals series at 2016 Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Indoor Games at Richmond Oval Track on Feb 6th.
Eliopoulos exploded at the start and broke the meet record at the BC Indoor meet with the new results of 8.14 seconds ranking # 1 in the country in 60m hurdles for the Youth category.
Anastase won the gold and in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.19.
Diego Medrano and Tirus Glowacki of the Spartans placed second in 60m hurdles with a Silver medal for the Youth and Midget category.
Thomas Ma ran a personal best of 8.12 seconds in the 60m, breaking the Jerome Indoor Meet record with 0.21 seconds, winning the gold medal.
Nina Schultz jumped 1.75m which was 7cm more than her last personal best, winning gold for the open category. With this result, Schultz is ranked # 1 in the country in high hump for the Junior category.
She ran well in the 60m hurdles winning a silver medal behind T. Davis, a 27 year old US hurdler, who came to compete at Jerome from Los Angeles.
14 year old, Kendra Lewis had a great opening with a time of 3:57.00, breaking the 1200m record and coming in third at the midget category for 14-15 years old girls. This is a huge personal best of 5.53 sec. from last year’s performance.
Cheryl Chow had a great race in the 60m hurdles placing 5th place and making the finals in the 60 m dash. Ch. Ainsworth, J. Wong, M. Allen ran a good performances in their events.

We are proud to announce the remarkable achievement of Thomas Nobbs at the Dempsey Indoor Track in Seattle on Feb 6th.
Nobbs ran an amazing race on his first 3000m indoor race at the UW High School Invitational competing with top US and Canadian HS distance runners. Nobbs, a grade 11 student from Point Grey Secondary won the race with an uncounted personal best with a time of 8:32.91, breaking the 2015 record by 11 seconds of another Canadian athlete, Nathan Tadesse, a grade 12 student.
Nobbs is ranked # 1 in the country for Oversized track.
