Last weekend, in winter conditions at Calgary Spring Challenge Combined Events, Jasper Schiedel, won the Decathlon in the Youth category with 6526 points, breaking BC and Canadian Decathlon record.
Jasper achieved a personal best in the 100m-11.44, 400m-51.22, 110mH-15.40, LJ-6.64m, DT-35.70m and JT – 41.89m.
With these new results, Jasper Schiedel, is ranked now # 1 in the country, and # 8th in the world achieving the standard for participation at World Youth Championships in Cali – Columbia in July 15-19, 2015.
So, counting the world standard in Heptathlon, achieved by Nina Schultz (ranked currently # 1 in the country, and # 8th in the world) of the Spartans at the UBC Open in March, our program now has two athletes with World Youth Championship standards and ranked top ten on the 2015 world youth list.
Anastase Eliopoulos, who is ranked # 1 athlete in 110mH in the country, and Hannah Johnston, are getting closer to the entrance of the World Youth Championship Highway.
With all these great achievements, our program is the best Vancouver Track and Field Program for preparing World Championships athletes.
