On June 28-30, seven VOC athletes competed at the Jack Brow Memorial Meet in Kelowna ending up with 17 medals: 11 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze.
Stephanie Cho, on her way to final preparation for the World Youth Championship in Donetsk (UKR), led the VOC team with two Golds and a Silver. In the 300mH, she won with a time of 43.19, achieving the BC Provincial standard and is now ranked #1 in the country.
Megan Picken ran well in 800m and 1200m winning Gold and Bronze respectively. Hannah Johnson had solid performances in long jump and hurdles, earning a Silver in long jump.
Renewed member, Paris Eliopoulos, returned strong in hurdles winning both 80mH and 200mH. She also won the Silver in the 200m and a Bronze in discus.
For the boys, Jasper Schiedel won four Gold medals in 100mH, 200mH, Long Jump and Triple Jump. Jasper had personal bests in both hurdles events. In 200mH he ran an excellent time of 25.25 and he achieved the Legion Standard in 100mH and 200mH.
Javier Sances-Mejorada had explosive performances in the 200m and 300m winning two Golds. He also earned Bronze in 100m. Thomas Nobbs performed well in the 800m and 1200m.
